Echo
Echo was found in the Northern IA Shelter with heartworms. Her
owners put her in the shelter at 7-8 years old because "the children
had grown up and left." It was apparent she had spent most of her
time outside. Luckily the shelter tested her for heartworm and then
treated her. Now that's a great shelter! She was fostered for a
week in the Twin Cities and then brought down to Milwaukee to join
her expectant family - Joel, Cliona and Nina. She is happy to be
combed a little each day while waiting to be bathed when her
treatment is over. She has taken to sleeping in Nina's room and won't
go downstairs now until Nina gets up whereupon Echo requests an
immediate tummy rub. Her well of sadness has been quickly filled by
endless pets, tummy rubs and short little walks until all the
heartworms are gone.
