Rescue Success Stories

Kelly, Hap and Karen minutes after she arrived from Pennsylvania. Check out the diamond biscuit mark!
The unspoken bond between Hap and Kelly and their overwhelming love for each other is so apparent.

In the summer of '98, Hap contacted me after seeing an ad I placed looking for adoptive and foster homes. He had recently lost his 6 year old sam to cancer - the same day he went in for his first cancer treatment. Hap is a Viet Nam vet whose lymphoma was caused by Agent Orange during the Viet Nam war. He was in great need of a dog but wanted to wait until his chemo was over. In August, with the help of SamFan Beth Tallentire in Pennsylvania, we arranged for a transport of the new Kelly and she was brought to Milwaukee by SamFan Christian Reyerson who happened to be going to Madison. Kelly has been living happily ever after with Karen and Hap, but she is, MOST DEFINITELY, daddy's girl. And Kelly has completely changed Hap's outlook on life.
